Gouache-less

I'm currently waiting for my car to arrive. It is being shipped to Philly from California. It has most of my stuff packed inside it, including my art supplies. So for now, I'm practicing my digital skills.
Right now I'm working on monochromatic and dichromatic palettes, because limited palettes amaze and confuse me. We'll see how things progress.

My friend Natalie met her soon-to-be husband while playing Ultimate Frisbee.
This commission is to be printed on commemorative frisbees that will be given out to the guests. I was honored to create something special for their big day.

I really had no idea what kind of picture I should put on my card, so I just started drawing a character and seeing what that would turn into.  Not too bad, I think.

Today was my last day of classes. School is now in the past tense. Over. I did it and I totally got away with it. Just one week til graduation.

COW International Festival

I'm happy to announce that my work has been accepted in the Center of The World [COW] International Design Festival.  They will be displaying my work as well as the works of other talented illustrators from around the world at the Dnepropetrovsk Art Museum in Ukraine from April 25 to May 16.  So if, on the off chance you happen to be in the area, go and check it out.  You can get more info at their official website. Also, my fellow LCAD-ian and generally all-around awesome artist Kelly Johnson will be featured in it as well.

I had never heard of this competition before, but apparently they've been doing this for a few years now and have a pretty good reputation for it. There will be a jury voting on it as well, but I am just happy to be a part of it.

Workspace

This is what my desk looks like. It's not usually this organized. I just felt like sharing.
I have my then-work-in-progress taped down, half of my surface is taken up by paints and my palette that I never bother to clean until there is absolutely no room left for new paint. This picture is a little misleading.. I normally have a much bigger coffee mug than that.
