Business card design!

Design complete!
I really had no idea what kind of picture I should put on my card, so I just started drawing a character and seeing what that would turn into.  Not too bad, I think.

COW International Festival

I'm happy to announce that my work has been accepted in the Center of The World [COW] International Design Festival.  They will be displaying my work as well as the works of other talented illustrators from around the world at the Dnepropetrovsk Art Museum in Ukraine from April 25 to May 16.  So if, on the off chance you happen to be in the area, go and check it out.  You can get more info at their official website. Also, my fellow LCAD-ian and generally all-around awesome artist Kelly Johnson will be featured in it as well.

I had never heard of this competition before, but apparently they've been doing this for a few years now and have a pretty good reputation for it. There will be a jury voting on it as well, but I am just happy to be a part of it.

Afternoon Nap

Still gouache, as usual. Trying to get a neutral shadow shade on the white sheets was a challenge.

Connected

My warm, fuzzy, holiday-type painting. It's kinda rough, but I wasn't intending to take it that seriously.

CTN Expo

I got to attend CTN Animation Expo last weekend with a full 3 day pass. It was a fantastic experience, as always.  I was really looking forward to meeting and connecting with other artists, but I still didn't have my official business card printed up yet. Sooo the night before, I hand-drew random doodles on little cards, and wrote my info on the back.

Not bad for a temporary solution.  Unfortunately I didn't take any pictures while I was there, but I got to meet a ton of awesome people, learned some useful and inspirational stuff from a few of the workshops, and the event with Glen Keane was just amazing.

Oh and also, this.
Because I don't have instagram. (Thanks to Cale Atkinson)

doodle

It's one of those days where I'm distracting myself from my art project because I can't stop doodling.

Black + color

I did this thing where I drew in front of a black background instead of white. When I wanted to darken, I just erased.  It was a fun little experiment.. makes it look like chalk on a chalkboard.

Frisbee logo

This was some work for my good friend's frisbee team. They were quite happy with the results, and I even got to have one of the t-shirts!
